Can anyone identify these? They're gone as soon as the sun shines on them.

Any ideas as to what type of mushroom?

This guy is a mushroom "expert" and I emailed him to ask--here is what he said :O)

Yes, they are mushrooms indeed! They appear to be a mushroom called the
"Japanese parasol" mushroom. The scientific name is Coprinus plicatilis if
you have a mushroom guide such as the Audubon guide. They are very delicate
and do dry up and disappear when the sun shines on them.

Happy mushrooming!

I'm such a "need to know" type--you know, WHY and HOW etc. I had to go until I found out lol
