Ta-Ta!!

We're packing our computers tonight (and wireless router, etc) so I will not have internet access for a while. We are leaving on Wednesday for Ohio. If some hotels along the way have internet access for free, I might check in on y'all... otherwise, I'll be back online around the beginning of July.

Should a dog bed cost more than a BMW?

Something just seems so wrong to me, when there actually are starving children in Africa. I'm not saying this dog bed is that expensive, but such dog beds do exist... as do clothing boutiques, jewelry stores, and day spas.... solely for the "pleasure" of our pets. Don't get me wrong... I'm obviously all for capitalism... having come to America 10 years ago ourselves with just the clothes on our backs... and now being able to purchase a home on acres and acres for an insane amount of cash (something, I assure you, we could never have accomplished in Europe)... but watching Paris purchase her pampered pooch a $25,000 necklace collar does make one wonder if that $25,000 could possibly be better spent... especially when one's dog can't tell a Harry Winston treasure from a flea collar. Okay, I've got boxes to pack. I don't have time to sit here stunned...

Created to be His Help Meet

Like a few other women around the planet, I've been reading this book by Debi Pearl. The first 3-4 chapters I felt she was right on. The emphasis was on Joy, and how to attain and keep it and I felt she gave very wise counsel. Then she got a bit prideful and that... well... jaws a bit. She scoffs at those who, after a couple of years of Greek in Seminary, think they are experts on the fallibility of the King James Version... while her husband, who has read four Greek translations every day for the past 30 years *knows* the KJV is the most accurate. Never mind that several hundred Greek translators with several decades of knowledge and expertise in the Greek language concur that the New American Standard is the most literal word-for-word translation available today (apart from an Interlinear Bible, of course). But... perhaps this is part of being a help meet. Swearing your husband is right, even when he is not. Which brings me to the next thing that niggled me wrong... Somewhere in
For man does not originate from woman, but woman from man; for indeed man was not created for the woman's sake, but woman for the man's sake. - I Corinthians 11:8-9 (NAS)

Why am I getting pop-ups on my blog?

I don't get pop-ups when I visit anyone elses blog on blogger/blogspot, but I do on mine. Does anyone know how I can stop that (I mean... I have pop-up blockers and all... but how do I prevent it happening for others visiting my blog who don't have pop-up blockers?) Update: I changed templates and the pop-ups disappeared. It must have been scripted into my old template. So nevermind, thanks. :)
