That is such a great idea. I've been on the lookout for a couple of months for inexpensive, easy-to-use digital cameras for our kids, because I think it is such a great thing to have access to the photography experience when you're young, and with digital it's essentially free. Which makes it much easier and quicker to learn to do it well, too.

Rachel, I've been letting them use my FujiFilm Finepix and I'm surprised how fast my five year old figured out the zoom, the flash, and how to switch from still to video and back again!

I just love looking at her perspective. She took a bunch today that I'm going to post and try to keep down to just my very favorites (she took 98 pictures!) ;o)

That's a good idea but The Nikon is just still too new. I'd hate to resent one of them for having destroyed my beautiful new camera, you know? :)

Oh definitely, my camera was a year old before I let my 13 yo use it, and two years old before I let the five year old! ;o)
