Two Months from Two

Fanny is 22 months old today. A few days ago I was busy doing some homeschool record keeping on my laptop... engrossed in some tiny, but important, details... when I felt her climb up next to me and snuggle into my side. I turned, and this was the view I had... she had put a hair band in her hair, a hair elastic on her arm as a bracelet, put her big sister's necklace around her neck, taken her bowl of (dry) Cheerios from the table, her favorite book and blankie... and hunkered down for the long haul. I suddenly had the feeling my baby had grown up, and I am so glad I'm at home with her, and did not miss one second of her babyhood. When I was a working mom I had many regrets. Since I've come home, I've not had one.

Aw, so cute! Funny, I just posted a similar picture of my almost-2-year-old yesterday! I can't believe it will be 2 years since we had those girls.

It's true...being a SAH, homeschooling mom is one of the toughest jobs...but 100% the most rewarding!!! :)

The Bennets

Taking a cue from Zelie I've decided to rename my kids after the five daughters in one of my favorite literary works "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen. Henceforth my five daughters shall be known as Jane, Elizabeth "Lizzy", Mary, Catherine "Kitty", and Lydia. It will be a bit confusing for me at first, as our Elisabeth will not be Elizabeth. ;o) But it will be fun. I've always had a hard time giving my youngest three clever names, and now this will solve the problem. I will change their names in the side bar later.
